About Us
Hi, and welcome to Satori Counseling! Embarking on your mental health journey can be exciting, overwhelming, and even scary. But we’re so glad you’re here.
We’re Alisha and Alina, friends who began sharing a growing vision for opening a private practice- one that held significant meaning to both of us and would represent and encompass everything that we hope to provide to our clients. “Satori” is a Japanese word meaning to have a full, deep experience of enlightenment. This meaning also includes comprehension, relevant to the therapeutic process because our therapeutic mission is to help guide you on your transformative journey. The concept of Satori moments has a fundamental aim of attaining ultimate peace.
Both enlightenment and Satori experiences happen with intentional work and dedication. At Satori Counseling, we aim for each of our clients to achieve a Satori level of peace and enlightenment within, giving you the confidence to face any challenge. Our goal is to provide you a safe space where you can process, heal, and grow.
Our logo is the beautiful flower called Tiger Claw, the official flower of Okinawa. One amazing aspect of this flower is that it grows in nearly every terrain due to its high durability. Tiger Claw flowers serve various purposes depending on their location around the world. While some cultures view them as strictly ornamental, other cultures utilize different portions of the plant as a food source for both humans and livestock. And yet others utilize the flower’s seeds as fish bait.
This concept of thriving in any place is similar to our concept at Satori, encouraging resilience, adaptability, and the recognition of potential in every situation. Just as the Tiger Claw transforms its environment into an opportunity to flourish, your mental health journey is an opportunity to harness your challenges as catalysts for personal development and renewal, blooming into your fullest potential amidst life's complexities.
